Amishi Vadgama is a Textile designer, researcher and a design educator by profession. She is an alumna of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and has been working in the industry for more than 7 years. Her professional practice mainly involves working in the Textile Industry for 5 years in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Her involvement there has been with highly skilled artisans in hand loom weaving in organic cotton and Ahimsa silk at Appachi Eco Logic Cotton Pvt Ltd, brand “ETHICUS”. Her profile also has involved Design & Marketing and has been prominent in and conducting many exhibitions for the brand.
She has also been working with the master craftsmen of hand block printing of Ajrakh craft for the past 3 years, along with many other crafts across the country.
She also has worked on Craft Research and documentations with IGNCA, Delhi and NID, Ahmedabad, and also continues to digitally design research based books for various projects.
As a design educator, she has spent time teaching basic foundation design courses , linear material oriented courses and craft research and documentation respectively. Has also been involved with Craft based educational trips for students with Design institutes in India.
