To sustain harmony, tolerance and to make the learners aware of the national pride and rich cultural heritage, the National/International commemorative days are regularly being celebrated and observed at Nirma University.
Independence Day: On the occasion of Independence Day every year, Nirma University organizes the flag hoisting ceremony on its campus. Renowned dignitaries from various walks of life are invited as Chief Guests for the occasion. A patriotic song competition is conducted as a mark of respect for our freedom fighters.
Republic Day: 26th January is observed as Republic Day in India. On this red-letter day, India was declared a sovereign nation. On this occasion, Nirma University conducts an array of events, including the flag hoisting ceremony, an exhibition of photographs shot by university students that is open for all, and much more.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Every year, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi (2 October) is celebrated by organizing cleanliness drives and awareness camps to clean the university premises and the adjoining areas.
International Yoga Day: The United Nations General Assembly has declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. To mark the occasion, the Government of India celebrates this day in a befitting manner all over the country. In the same vein, Nirma University celebrates this day on campus every year. All university officers, teaching and non-teaching staff perform yoga under a trainer in the morning.
Teachers Day: Teacher?s day is celebrated in India every year on 5th September to pay tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishan former president of the country and missionary education. Teachers are the compass that activates the magnet of curiosity, wisdom, and knowledge in each one of us. With the same tradition every year Institute of Design, Nirma University celebrates Teachers Day to appreciate efforts taken by faculty members.
International Women?s Day: To raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among students, Every year an International Women?s day is celebrated by the Women?s cell of Nirma University on 8th March 2021.
