Akshay Chandekar is an industrial designer with a genuine passion for understanding how things work and why they matter. Trained at NID Ahmedabad (M.Des in Furniture Design), NIT Raipur (B.Arch), and Diploma Product Design from Istituto Marangoni Milan Italy, his 8+ years of practice reflect an unwavering commitment to rigorous design thinking grounded in material knowledge and maker's perspective.
He is driven by the belief that compelling design solutions come from listening to traditional craftspeople, experimenting with materials directly, and understanding real user needs. Rather than chasing trends, he pursues design that bridges innovation with craft wisdom, that is built to last, and that respects both maker and user.
Beyond commercial projects, Akshay is an educator deeply invested in cultivating thoughtful designers. He teaches with the conviction that design is learned best by doing. His design practice, reflects his commitment to meaningful, grounded design work. A cyclist, researcher, and lifelong learner, he approaches design as ongoing inquiry.
