About
Pradeep Kumar Sahu is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Design, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has more than 13 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University, Chhattisgarh), and an M.Tech degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
He has published and presented research papers in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and Design and has guided more than four M.Tech dissertations. He served as the Co-Principal Investigator for the CSVTU Bhilai TEQIP-III Collaborative Research Project (2019–2021), focused on the design and fabrication of a cost-effective semi-automatic rice transplanter.
He received the Regional and National AICTE–ECI–ISTE Chhatra Vishwakarma Award in 2018–19 for his work on designing an Active Prosthetic Arm. His student project on Powered Exoskeleton development was recognized at the GUJCOST RoboFest in 2020–21 and received prize money of ₹1,50,000 for its innovative contribution. Recently, his patent titled “A Universal Fatigue Testing Device” was granted in 2026, further contributing to his work in engineering innovation and research.
Research Areas: CAD/CAM, Fracture Mechanics, Fatigue Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Mechanism Design, and Animation.
