About
Pradipta Biswas (b. 1979, Howrah, West Bengal, India) received his BFA & MFA in Painting specialization from Department of Painting, Kala- Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, India in the years of 2008 and 2010. He also did his B.Sc. from Calcutta University in the year 2002. Now he is a pursuing Ph. D candidate of Visual Arts.
Pradipta has 14 years of teaching experience in Art & Design discipline and also has 4 years administrative experience. He was Coordinator/ HOD Fine Arts at Amity University Haryana from 2018 to 2023. Presently he is an Assistant Professor at Institute of Design, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Pradipta has published research papers and articles in reputed National & international journals. His research area is Indian indigenous art form and mural arts. His artwork is a response to the diversities of his surroundings, both subjectively and collectively.
Pradipta has participated in many National and International exhibitions, which include the -“Danube-Ganges” Part-II in Kuti Galeria Budapest, Hungary (2017); “The Indian art Exhibition” arranged by “Mauritius Tourism” in Port Louis – Mauritius (2010) and National Exhibition- 74th Annual All India Fine Arts Exhibition, in Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata; Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata; 83rd All India Exhibition by Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar; All India Art Competition and Exhibition 2021, 3rd Edition State Gallery of Art Hyderabad, Govt. of Telangana (2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, 2022). He also has displayed his works at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2013), Rabindra Bhawan Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2017, 2019), Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata (2010, 2011).
Pradipta has also received the Scholarship from Visva Bharati (2003-2010), Haryana State Award for Painting from Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, 2018.
Presently, Pradipta lives and working at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
