Nirma University is highly engaged in extension activities through its students to build the neighboring communities on one hand and to foster psychosocial development of students on the other hand.
The extension activities are divided into three categories. The first set of activities are integrated into the curriculum and include activities like an internship with NGOs. The second category of extension activities consists of structured long-term engagement with communities through the various national social schemes where the students spend around two weeks serving the community. The third category comprises the various activities which are conducted for short term duration by different student organizations like organizing blood donation camps, visiting old age homes, workshops for disadvantaged sections of society, teaching the underprivileged, etc.
