Institute of Design organised a meet-up to discuss the “Impact of AI on Design Education and Profession”. This meet-up was organised on May 3, 2024 in collaboration with our visiting faculty – Mr Dhaval Joshi, Founder Simulabs. It was an excellent opportunity for the academic and the students’ community to learn about the Impact of AI from different perspectives.

1. Mr. Munwar Khan
Head of Design & DGM, OPPO India (Former)
Director, David Dunne Design Thinking
Munwar Khan is a distinguished figure in the UX industry as the former Head of Design at OPPO India, and is currently the Director of the David Dunne Design Thinking Lab at Woxsen University.
An alumnus of IIT Bombay, Munwar’s career over 15 years is marked by influential roles at industry giants like Samsung Mobiles, Huawei Mobiles, Honeywell Innovation Lab, and ADP India. He is also the founder and initiator of 𝑱.𝑸𝒐𝒓𝒌 -a premium lifestyle brand rooted in the natural beauty of cork.
2. Mr. Davis Rajan
Founder and CEO of KOVIL.AI – The AI talent agency
Davis Rajan, is the Founder & CEO of KOVIL.ai, a AI talent agency. Before founding KOVIL he led Vodafone as GM- India and led Wipro North America as Head of Service Delivery. Currently, Davis is focused on building Kovil.AI, connecting top-tier AI talent with exciting opportunities in India and abroad.
3. Mr. Hardik Govani
Managing Director of Sun Robotics
A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with expertise in the electrical and electronics product design and manufacturing industry.
4. Deeksha Somaiya
Assistant Professor at UID, Karnavati University
Deeksha Somaiya is an architect-interior Designer with a bachelors from NMIMS University and an International Masters from CEPT University and Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart. At the start of her architectural career, she worked in various firms for over 3 years with eminent firms such as SRDA, Mumbai, and TSA, Pune. She was also part of the MP Government design committee in their project for the Re-designing of interiors of the High Court. As a design educator at UID, Karnavati University, her expertise lies in dealing with the design process of Computational and Parametric design, Generative design for manufacturing, and Emerging Technology. Currently pursuing her doctoral studies in speculative design, her research interests lie at the intersection of art and architecture, artificial intelligence and design processes.
5. Rushi Godhani
